Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Yagba Federal Constituency, Hon. Seun Ibigbemi, has embarked on an ambitious water intervention project aimed at addressing persistent water scarcity through the provision of 65 solar-powered boreholes across the constituency.
The initiative, designed to improve access to clean and safe drinking water, has already recorded significant progress, with 25 solar-powered boreholes completed in Mopamuro Local Government Area of Kogi.
Benefiting communities include Okeagi, Itakete-Ide, Ilai, Yeke, Okedagun, Ayeteju and Ileteju, among others.

According to a statement issued by the Seun Ibigbemi Media Office, work is ongoing to extend the project to Yagba East and Yagba West Local Government Areas, with additional boreholes planned for the two councils.
The statement explained that the initiative is being implemented through the L.A. Ibigbemi Foundation and sponsored by Hon. Seun Ibigbemi as part of efforts to ease the hardship faced by residents who have endured years of inadequate access to potable water.
Tagged “Operation Water for All,” the project is expected to bring sustainable water supply closer to thousands of residents, reduce dependence on unsafe water sources and eliminate the need for many community members to trek long distances in search of water.
The initiative has been described as a major grassroots infrastructure intervention aimed at improving public health, promoting community welfare and enhancing the living conditions of residents across Yagba Federal Constituency.
Residents of the benefiting communities have welcomed the intervention, expressing appreciation for the provision of solar-powered boreholes in their localities.
Some beneficiaries described Ibigbemi’s intervention as a timely response to their longstanding water challenges, noting that access to clean and reliable water would significantly reduce their daily hardship.
The project underscores the importance of community-focused interventions in addressing basic social needs, particularly in rural areas where access to essential amenities remains a major concern.
