Kolkata, Oct 15: A court in Kolkata has restrained Mamata AITC MP Mahua Moitra from making “any defamatory statement” against West Bengal Chief Secretary Manoj Agarwal after he complained that she made unsubstantiated allegations against him in connection with SIR.
The Civil Judge Senior Division, 1st Court, Alipore, also directed the Krishnanagar MP to delete her social media posts against Agarwal in relation to the special intensive revision of electoral rolls and the conduct of this year’s West Bengal assembly elections within 24 hours of receiving the order.
The court, however, clarified that this order will not “restrain fair criticism of the SIR or of any official decision”.
The court restrained Moitra from publishing, posting, or repeating “any defamatory statement” against Agarwal, including any statement connected to two posts in question which she allegedly made on her X earlier. (PTI)
