Patrick Mahomes continues to close in on Tom Brady’s legend. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback once again entered the NFL record books by matching one of the former Patriots star’s most impressive milestones.
With a 22-6 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium, Mahomes reached 100 regular-season wins, becoming, alongside Brady the quarterback who reached that mark the fastest in league history.

The three-time Super Bowl champion achieved the historic milestone in just 131 career starts, a pace that once again places him in the same conversation as one of the most dominant players of all time.
After the game, Mahomes spoke with CBS Sports reporter Melanie Collins and made it clear he has no plans to slow down.
“It seems like every time I win a game, I’m tying him [Tom Brady], so I’m gonna keep winning,” he said postgame.
Mahomes keeps climbing among the NFL’s greats
The win over the Chargers allowed the Chiefs to remain perfect at 5-0, while Los Angeles dropped to 0-6.
At just 31 years old, Mahomes continues to pile up achievements that bring him closer to the most important names in NFL history. His statistical rivalry with Brady has become one of the league’s most frequent comparisons.
Brady himself has repeatedly acknowledged Mahomes’ level and called him the best quarterback in the NFL today.
“Pat’s the best quarterback in the NFL, he’s unbelievable,” Brady said last year. “It doesn’t take away from his greatness at all. He’s just playing within the rules and how they’re calling them.”
The seven-time Super Bowl champion also offered advice to Mahomes during an injury recovery process, stressing the importance of maintaining an elite athlete’s mindset.
“The only thing you can do is focus on what’s ahead of you and not look back,” Brady said. “And just say, OK, this is part of what my career is going to be. And a lot of people have gone through it and a lot of people have overcome it. You’ve just got to put as much diligence into the rehab process. And I always feel like the faster you rehab, the faster you can get back to practicing the sport that you know you love. I think sometimes people will pace themselves. Instead of training mode, they’re in rehab mode. I think you gotta get through rehab mode as fast as possible and then you get back to training mode. But that requires an all-out commitment and it’s the same commitment that the great professional athletes make to be great at their profession. When you go through the rehab process, you need that same level of focus and determination.”
