The Milwaukee Brewers have apologized for how they handled their “Timeless Ticket” promotion in advance of their first World Series berth in 44 years, according to a statement released by the club on Tuesday.
“Prior to the deadline, several hundred fans indicated an intention to redeem their Timeless Ticket for a World Series game,” Rick Schlesinger, the club’s president of business operations, wrote. “We subsequently erred in our internal communications on the logistics of fulfilling the requests.
“While we were able to accommodate all with seats, we received feedback from some that they were unhappy with their seat locations. Clearly, even with extraordinary limitations on available seats, we did not live up to the spirit of the program, and we have been working through a resolution.”
Schlesinger added that all fans who submitted requests before the deadline can keep their World Series ticket for this year and will retain their “Timeless Ticket” for another game of their choosing in the future.
That promotion dates to 2015, when the Brewers offered 1,000 personalized bronzed tickets, which entitled the purchaser to a seat at any future home game for $1,000 apiece. The idea was borrowed from forever stamps, Schlesinger explained at the time.

Naturally, with the Brewers advancing to the World Series, hundreds of loyal fans dreaming of such a moment attempted to cash in on their tickets in the past week. But a handful expressed their dissatisfaction to Sportico after learning the Brewers were offering only 400-level and standing seats.
The original terms of the “Timeless Ticket” from 2015 stated that they could be “redeemed for the best available seat location(s), subject to ticket availability at the time of redemption,” according to documentation one fan held onto. Fans were also allowed to purchase up to three more tickets at face value.
In the aftermath, two of the fans who previously raised issues with the process told Sportico they responded positively to the Brewers’ update. Milwaukee is set to host the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 1 of the World Series on Friday at American Family Field.
