iM Financial Group's iM Social Contribution Foundation held a ceremony marking its 15th anniversary, where it also received a presidential citation for the first time since the foundation was established.
iM Financial Group said it held the anniversary ceremony on the 22nd at iM Bank's second headquarters. A ceremony to mark the presidential citation was also held at the same event. The foundation had been selected for the citation on the 2nd, the Day of Older Persons, in recognition of its financial education programs run through iM Financial Experience Park, a hands-on financial education center, and its tailored support for vulnerable groups.
The iM Social Contribution Foundation was launched in 2011 alongside the establishment of iM Financial Group. It funds its programs through donations from group affiliates and a "1% of Salary Sharing" campaign among employees, and runs social contribution projects covering every stage of life from children to older adults. Employees also take part in volunteer work at local welfare sites through the iM Companion Volunteer Corps.
The ceremony included an exhibition and video presentation reviewing the foundation's 15 years of activities, as well as awards for outstanding employees.
"We have been able to achieve sustainable growth because of the interest and cooperation of local residents and partner organizations who have been with us over the past 15 years," said Hwang Byoung-woo, chairman of the iM Social Contribution Foundation. "We will continue to reach out first to those in need and expand a range of ESG projects."
