Former West Indies cricketer and renowned commentator Ian Bishop has praised Pakistan’s emerging batter Maaz Sadaqat following his explosive innings in the second T20I against Sri Lanka at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
The 21-year-old played a pivotal role in Pakistan’s commanding 82-run victory, which helped the hosts secure an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
Taking to social media platform X, Bishop expressed his admiration for Sadaqat’s batting abilities, having previously watched the youngster impress during the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026.
“We were happy to see the talent of Maaz Sadaqat in the CPL 2026 for the Jamaica Kingsmen. His good form continues for Pakistan, and we hope he has a long and successful career. He is a nice 360 batter,” Bishop wrote.

The former West Indies pacer’s remarks came after Sadaqat produced a sensational batting display against Sri Lanka, narrowly missing out on his maiden T20I century.
Asked to bat first, Pakistan piled up an imposing 215-3 in their allotted 20 overs, with Sadaqat leading the charge through an aggressive 96 off just 51 deliveries.
The left-handed batter struck six fours and seven sixes during his innings, maintaining a strike rate of 188.23 as he dominated the Sri Lankan bowling attack.
In response, Sri Lanka struggled to build momentum in their pursuit of the daunting 216-run target.
The visitors were restricted to 133-7 in 20 overs, handing Pakistan a comprehensive victory and ensuring the hosts wrapped up the series with one match remaining.
Notably, Sadaqat’s impressive performance was a continuation of the form he displayed during his stint in the CPL earlier this year.
Representing Jamaica Kingsmen, the young Pakistan batter emerged as one of the standout performers in the tournament, finishing as its third-highest run-scorer.
He amassed 363 runs in seven matches at an impressive average of 51.85 and a strike rate of 174.51. His remarkable campaign also included two centuries, highlighting his ability to score quickly and consistently against quality bowling attacks.
