Matter Labs has launched Prividium Commander, a control plane built for banks and other institutions that run digital asset services. The product went live on October 21, 2026, and it is generally available from day one.
What Prividium Commander actually does
Prividium Commander bundles several functions into one place. These include permissions management, token issuance, compliance workflows, policy enforcement, and data integrations.
The product sits on top of Matter Labs’ existing Prividium platform, which is built around privacy. Institutions can deploy it on different blockchain infrastructure, including Hyperledger Besu or Prividium Ledger.
Commander is designed to connect with an institution’s existing identity and custody setups rather than replace them. Gluchowski’s argument is that technology was never the real bottleneck for institutions. In his view, the hard part has been operational complexity.
Matter Labs rolled out the product alongside Money20/20 USA.
How Matter Labs got here
Matter Labs is best known as the developer behind ZKsync, a zero-knowledge Ethereum scaling network. Prividium started in 2024 and uses Matter Labs’ ZK Stack technology to deliver private, secure transaction execution.
The company completed a SOC 2 Type I examination by May 29, 2026. In September 2026, Matter Labs open-sourced Prividium Core. Deutsche Bundesbank, Germany’s central bank, is the first institution testing it.
Matter Labs has also lined up partnerships with Cari Network and Japan’s NexBridge, aimed at exploring tokenized deposits and other institutional use cases.
What this means for institutions, tokenholders, and the market
The multi-chain support allows deployment on Hyperledger Besu as well as Prividium Ledger.
CEO Alex Gluchowski confirmed to The Defiant that Commander’s revenue flows to Matter Labs as a company, not to ZKsync tokenholders. That means institutional adoption of Commander does not automatically translate into direct revenue for the token.
Matter Labs’ differentiators are zero-knowledge privacy, a completed SOC 2 Type I exam, an open-source core, and Deutsche Bundesbank as a tester of Prividium Core.
