Roster change is the biggest constant in college football right now.
Players frequently play for multiple programs in a college football career. That's especially the case for those who go through a coaching change in their career, as happened at CSU in 2025 as the Rams went from Jay Norvell to Jim Mora.
There are plenty of former Rams still playing in FBS after leaving Colorado State.
Here's a look at 20 former Rams who are still playing college football and how they're faring in 2026.
Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi, Michigan
The quarterback played 31 career games with the Rams and threw for nearly 7,000 career yards but struggled for consistency.
He left CSU's program in the middle of 2025 and then transferred to Michigan. The Wolverines have benched former starter Bryce Underwood, but freshman Tommy Carr will start in his place.
Fowler-Nicolosi is the third-string quarterback and has not appeared in any games this season.
Jackson Brousseau, Cal
Brousseau took over for Fowler-Nicolosi at QB during the 2025 season and threw for 1,354 yards and nine touchdowns in nine games played.
He transferred to Cal and began the season as a backup but has found himself on the field amid injuries and inconsistency for Cal. Brousseau started last week for Cal but was benched late in the game and a starter for this week has not been announced.
Brousseau has completed 62.5% (75-120) of his passes for 701 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions this season.
Owen Long, Arizona State
The linebacker led the nation in tackles in 2025 at CSU with 151.
Long transferred to Arizona State and he's currently tied for 22nd in FBS with 54 tackles. He also has a fumble forced, fumble recovered and an interception this season.
Javion Kinnard, San Diego State
The running back made a big impression as a freshman in 2025, with touchdowns rushing, receiving and via punt return.
He'll return to Fort Collins Oct. 24 to face the Rams as a member of Pac-12 foe San Diego State. Kinnard has 81 carries for 432 yards (5.3 per carry) and a touchdown in six games so far this season. He's also returned punts for the Aztecs.
Jalen Dupree, Kansas

Dupree led the Rams with 508 rushing yards last season.
Dupree is fourth on Kansas in carries (25) and yards (111) in six games played. He does have two rushing touchdowns.
Rocky Beers, Oklahoma

The tight end led the Rams in receiving with 388 yards in 2025 and racked up seven receiving touchdowns.
Beers is second on Oklahoma in receptions (26) and yards (329) and first with three TD receptions.
Lloyd Avant, Oklahoma

Avant was a good kick returner and a running back for CSU last season and had 417 rushing yards.
He's now Oklahoma's leading rusher with 267 yards on 60 carries (4.5 per carry) and two rushing touchdowns. He had 72 rushing yards and a touchdown in a win over then-No. 1 Texas earlier in October. He also has nine catches for 48 yards this season.
Jaxxon Warren, North Carolina
The tight end was a high-potential player for the Rams but was injury-hit. He had a touchdown in the 2025 season-opener against Washington but was hurt the next week and didn't play again.
Warren transferred to Bill Belichick's North Carolina but hasn't appeared in any games in 2026.
Jordan Ross, Arizona
The receiver is one of the top-rated high school recruits in CSU history, but struggled to make a consistent impact for the Rams. He had 84 receiving yards in seven games played last season.
Ross transferred to Arizona but, according to Pro Football Focus, has played just one snap this season.
Tanner Morley, Kansas State
Morley became a central part of CSU's offensive line in 2025.
Morley has appeared in all six games for the Wildcats where he has three starts and is currently the starting left guard.
Christian Martin, Illinois
Martin became a key part of CSU's offensive line, taking the valuable left tackle spot.
He's played in five of six games so far this season for Illinois, making those appearances as the starting left tackle. He's now listed as the backup left tackle.
Bryan Hansen, West Virginia
Hansen was CSU's punter in 2025, averaging 48 yards per punt.
Hansen is averaging 42.9 yards per punt (42nd in FBS) for West Virginia, which is ranked 61st in FBS in net punting.
Justin Marshall, Liberty

Crandall left for West Virginia and played 160 defensive snaps in 11 games (per PFF) in 2024. He then transferred again, this time to Oregon State. He did not play in 2025 due to injury but has appeared in six games in 2026. Crandall has 17 tackles and an interception for the Beavers and is a starting cornerback.
Gabe Kirschke, Wake Forest
The defensive end came to CSU ahead of the 2024 season after spending two seasons at Wisconsin, where he only appeared in one game. Kirschke was an instant starter as a Ram and led the team in 2024 in tackles-for-loss (10) and sacks (6.5). He also forced two fumbles, recovered one, had an interception and blocked a kick.
Kirschke transferred to Wake Forest for 2025 and is now is in his second season with the Demon Deacons. Kirschke has 22 tackles, 6.5 tackles-for-loss and three sacks this season.
