The Los Angeles Chargers sit at 0-6 but veterans like Tony Jefferson refuse to panic. The safety may remain confident, but many wonder how much longer Jim Harbaugh and Mike McDaniel can co-exist.
Harbaugh addressed McDaniel’s play-calling in a different tone Monday.
“We’re looking into everything at this point, and that process is ongoing-particularly offensively, scoring more points,” Harbaugh mentioned.

But he added how being “0-6 does not give the privilege to rule out anything at this point.”
Another words, Harbaugh didn’t dance around the McDaniel question this time. He once defended the OC including helping deny he would take over play-calling duties. So now Harbaugh believes that changes must be made.
McDaniel brought a faster-paced offense via his past coaching stop with the Miami Dolphins. He preferred playing more of a Ferrari style of offense compared to the run-oriented, physical ball control system former OC Greg Roman ran. Harbaugh never retained his longtime assistant following the Chargers’ first round playoff exit from 2025.
McDaniel’s offense has shown to progress worse for LAC. Defenses bottled this Bolts offense to 23 points or under this season. The Kansas City Chiefs stayed unbeaten by holding the Chargers to just six points on Sunday.
Harbaugh and Los Angeles enter a needed bye week to address the Chargers’ issues especially on offense. Everyone from quarterback Justin Herbert, to wide receivers Ladd McConkey and Tre Harris all the way to the front line have struggled. The Chargers are 0-6 for the first time since the 2000 season, when Harbaugh played QB for the franchise in San Diego.
