The Ministry of Health and the Tourism Projects Company (TPC) are exploring stronger cooperation to improve public health, environmental sanitation and preventive measures at tourist and coastal facilities, as part of efforts to protect visitors, employees and the wider community from health risks.
The discussions took place on Wednesday during a meeting between Ministry of Health Undersecretary Sheikh Dr. Salman Khalifa Al-Sabah and Tourism Projects Company CEO Anwar Al-Halila. According to the ministry, the meeting reflected its commitment to expanding institutional partnerships and strengthening coordination with national entities to support preventive healthcare and maintain a healthy, sustainable environment across Kuwait.
Both sides discussed mechanisms for joint action to promote healthier conditions at tourist and coastal sites, improve environmental sanitation and prevent potential health hazards. The talks also focused on strengthening monitoring and preventive control of health pests and disease vectors, while reducing environmental factors that could pose risks to public health. These measures aim to safeguard people visiting the facilities as well as those working at the sites.
The meeting further addressed the promotion of the “One Health” concept, which recognizes the close links between human, animal and environmental health. The approach emphasizes coordinated action to address health risks arising from interactions between people and their surrounding environment. Cooperation in health and environmental awareness was another key topic, with both sides discussing ways to promote public education and encourage sound practices that help prevent health risks and strengthen community awareness.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Affairs Dr. Al-Mundhir Al-Hasawi and Tourism Projects Company Deputy CEO for Projects and Development Mubarak Al-Anzi. The proposed cooperation forms part of broader efforts to strengthen preventive health measures and environmental standards at public-facing facilities, supporting safer and healthier surroundings for visitors and employees.
