Another gameday has arrived, and Tennessee has a tricky one this afternoon. The Volunteers have arrived in Columbia, South Carolina for a date with the Gamecocks, who are coming off of a bye week. South Carolina roared back to life two weeks ago, traveling to Gainesville and demolishing the Florida Gators. Oddsmakers think that momentum will continue into today.
Tennessee is coming off of a physically dominant win over rival Alabama, walking into an obvious letdown spot. Jim Knowles defense was firing on all cylinders, holding the Crimson Tide to season lows across the board. Tennessee will need that unit in a big way today to slow down LaNorris Sellers and company.
Tennessee will also need the offensive line and DeSean Bishop to show up in a big away against a stout South Carolina front. Can George MacIntyre take advantage of a shaky secondary? That’s a key for this afternoon.
