Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl has left it open whether goalkeeper Manuel Neuer can return from a foot problem for Wednesday's Champions League match against Arsenal.
Neuer, 40, missed Bayern's 3-3 Champions League draw at Viking Stavanger in mid-week and also their 6-1 demolition of RB Leipzig on Saturday evening.
"It's nothing serious, it's just been a bit of fluid in the foot, nothing dramatic. It was not enough for today, now we'll see whether it's enough by Wednesday," Eberl said post-match.
Eberl specified the nature of Neuer's complaints after coach Vincent Kompany had only said that Neuer had felt something in his foot.
Urbig the option for Arsenal match
Jonas Urbig was between the posts in Stavanger and against Leipzig. He said he would also be ready against Premier League champions and last season's Champions League finalists Arsenal.
"Everyone is ready to play," said the 23-year-old. "I hope Manu gets back fit quickly, that's clear. If I'm needed, I'm here."
Urbig had little to do against disappointing Leipzig, but conceded one goal in stoppage time to Andrija Maksimović. Bayern's goals came from a Luis Díaz hat-trick, Aleksandar Pavlović, Michael Olise and Harry Kane.
Musiala to return this month
Bayern will be without the suspended Olise against the Gunners and the game also comes too early for Jamal Musiala, who according to Eberl is however is not far from a comeback from a muscle fibre tear.
"I don't think it will be enough against Arsenal. Now he's being brought back slowly, slowly, but he'll still come back in October," said Eberl.
