Century-old Sheffield law firm hailed as South Yorkshire ‘powerhouse’

A leading South Yorkshire law firm is celebrating after receiving high praise from one of the legal world’s leading independent league tables.

Graysons Solicitors has won plaudits in the latest Legal 500, with teams and individuals across the firm singled out for commendation.

Its personal injury team received one of the strongest endorsements, being described as a “South Yorkshire personal injury powerhouse”.

Partners Jonathan West and Jane Cooper were also singled out as “standout members of an outstanding personal injury team”.

There was further praise for the firm’s medical negligence team, led by partner Nikki Yavari. It was described as an “experienced, professional and efficient team”, while Nikki herself was singled out as “excellent to work with”.

Megan Wroe, head of Graysons’ family team, was praised by clients, with one saying she “goes above and beyond”.

The private client team, headed by partner Laura Cowan, also retained its place in the rankings, with Laura among 13 members of the firm to receive individual recognition.

Peter Clark, Managing Partner at Graysons, said: “To be described as a ‘South Yorkshire personal injury powerhouse’ is a fantastic endorsement, particularly coming so soon after our centenary.

“But what is especially pleasing is the breadth of the recognition. Teams and individuals right across Graysons have been praised, and much of that feedback comes from people who have experienced first-hand what we do.”

The Legal 500 carries out independent research into law firms, including feedback from clients and others working within the legal profession.

Graysons celebrated its 100th anniversary in December 2025, a century after Sheffield solicitor Robert Grayson first established the practice.

Graysons Solicitors specialise in wills, estates and trusts, elderly client services, lifetime planning, property, family law, personal injury, and clinical negligence.
