KOTA MARUDU: A fisherman was surprised to find a crocodile caught in his fishing net near Kampung Radu Laut Pangkalan.
The man contacted the Fire and Rescue Department for assistance after discovering the crocodile at about 8.45am.
Kota Marudu Fire and Rescue Station chief Debli Mamoi said: "Upon arrival, the fire and rescue team found a 2m-long crocodile caught in the fishing net," he said.
Recently, a 2.8m-long, 100kg crocodile was also found trapped in a fishing net at Kampung Birahan.
The fire and rescue department advised the public, particularly fishermen, to remain alert to the presence of crocodiles in the waters and contact the authorities immediately if they spot one.
