Hana Bank Wins First Euromoney Custody Award

Founded in London in the United Kingdom in 1969, Euromoney is regarded as a media outlet with international credibility. In this year’s awards, Euromoney highly evaluated Hana Bank’s stable operating experience built up in the domestic custody market and the expertise it has demonstrated as a custodian for major public institutions, including the four public pension funds and the Korea Post. Infrastructure supporting overseas investment through its global network was also cited as a key selection factor. Analysts say Hana Bank, drawing on its strengths as a foreign exchange-specialized bank, has been responding flexibly to institutional investors’ demand for globally diversified investment and changes in portfolio composition. Service advancement through technological innovation also supported the achievement. Last year, Hana Bank introduced a next-generation custody system to enhance its ability to respond to financial market volatility, thereby strengthening both the accuracy and stability of custody asset management. Hana Bank plans to use the award as a springboard to further solidify the competitiveness of its custody services. In particular, it aims to prepare for the introduction of digital asset custody services and continuously upgrade its next-generation system so that it can respond proactively to changing market conditions. An official from Hana Bank’s Custody Business Department said, "We are continuing to enhance our expertise in order to manage customers’ valuable custody assets in a stable manner," adding, "We will continue to provide trustworthy services based on our global network."
