Why Mandel Nallo Will Win
Mandel Nallo brings the explosive athleticism and devastating knockout power required to shock veteran Nate Landwehr at UFC Edmonton. While Landwehr is known for his iron chin and brawling style, he has recently suffered multiple devastating knockout losses, suggesting severe wear and tear.
Nallo excels at maintaining range and unleashing fight-ending strikes from the outside, utilizing his significant reach advantage to keep the aggressive American at bay. Once Landwehr attempts to close the distance and initiate his trademark firefights, Nallo’s precise counter-striking will easily find its mark.
Furthermore, Landwehr’s chaotic forward pressure often leaves him defensively exposed, exactly the type of opening that Nallo ruthlessly exploits. If Landwehr attempts to drag the fight to the canvas to avoid the power, Nallo boasts strong defensive grappling and the physical strength to immediately return to his feet.
Fighting in front of a passionate Canadian crowd, the momentum will heavily favor the hometown prospect if he lands early damage. As Landwehr becomes increasingly desperate to turn the tide, his predictable rushes will play perfectly into Nallo’s dynamic striking arsenal.
Ultimately, Nallo’s raw power and athletic advantages present too steep of a hill for the fading veteran to climb. Expect Nallo to perfectly time an aggressive entry from Landwehr, securing a spectacular early knockout victory to announce his arrival in the division.
Why Nate Landwehr Will Win
Nate Landwehr enters UFC Edmonton with the exact style of weaponized pacing required to break Mandel Nallo’s will inside the Octagon. By constantly marching forward and applying suffocating pressure, the battle-tested American will prevent the Canadian prospect from settling into a comfortable striking rhythm.
Nallo relies heavily on maintaining outside distance to set up his explosive, fight-ending combinations early in the contest. However, Landwehr thrives in pure chaos, and he will gladly absorb a few hard shots to drag this fight directly into the phone booth.
Once the action inevitably becomes a gritty firefight in the clinch, Landwehr’s elite dirty boxing and relentless volume will begin to melt his opponent. Nallo has historically shown a tendency to fade when forced to fight at a grueling, frantic pace for extended periods.
Furthermore, Landwehr’s extensive experience against the absolute elite of the UFC featherweight division provides a massive intangible advantage in this highly anticipated matchup. He has survived deep waters against world-class opposition, whereas Nallo is still relatively unproven when facing top-tier promotional veterans.
As the hometown favorite visibly tires in the later rounds, expect Landwehr to shift into an entirely different gear. The American will ultimately drown an exhausted Nallo in a relentless barrage of strikes to secure a brutal late-fight stoppage.
Final Mandel Nallo-Nate Landwehr Prediction & Pick
This Saturday at UFC Edmonton, explosive Canadian striker Mandel Nallo faces veteran Nate Landwehr in a thrilling featherweight clash. The dynamic of this matchup hinges entirely on whether Nallo can land his devastating power before the American dictates the pace.
Landwehr has recently suffered several knockout defeats, making him incredibly vulnerable to a dynamic finisher. If Nallo utilizes his reach advantage and stays off the cage, his precise counter-strikes could yield a spectacular early finish.
However, Landwehr thrives in pure chaos and will relentlessly march forward to drag this contest into a gritty firefight. If the veteran survives the initial onslaught, his suffocating pressure will rapidly drain the hometown favorite’s cardio.
Given Landwehr’s recent durability issues, stepping into the pocket against a heavy hitter like Nallo is a massive risk. Expect Nallo to perfectly time the aggressive veteran’s entry, securing a brutal first-round knockout to thrill the Canadian crowd.
Final Mandel Nallo-Nate Landwehr Prediction & Pick: Mandel Nallo (-285), UNDER 1.5 Rounds (-230)
