The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) says it is supporting Afghans who have returned to the country in starting businesses and creating employment opportunities.
The agency said on Wednesday, October 14, in a post on X that some returnees have restarted their businesses in Afghanistan with support from UNHCR and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The UN added that the initiative also provides employment opportunities for women returnees and internally displaced people.
The support comes as the forced deportation of Afghan migrants from neighboring countries, particularly Iran and Pakistan, continues.
Hamdullah Fitrat, the Taliban deputy spokesperson, has also announced that 162 families, comprising 698 people, were forcibly returned to Afghanistan yesterday.
