The Los Angeles Rams may need another kicker ahead of Week 7 after Blake Grupe was spotted on crutches, raising questions about his availability for the upcoming matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. Spotted on his way out of the locker room was recently signed kicker, Blake Grupe, who suffered a knee injury in the 2nd quarter on an attempted tackle during kickoff coverage.

With the Rams already struggling to find consistency on special teams, the injury at the place kicker position creates more unwanted complication for Sean McVay’s team. Los Angeles must find stability at the position.
Grupe’s status will be worth monitoring as the Rams prepare for their next game but considering he was seen saying goodbye to his teammates in the locker room, it seems likely that the kicker will be placed on IR or waived altogether. Being on crutches does not automatically rule him out, but it raises legitimate concerns about his short term and long term availability. If he cannot go, Los Angeles will likely need to bring in another kicker to what has already been a nightmare of a season to start.
Instability at the position has cost the Rams far too long. Harrison Mevis was released after struggling through five games, forcing the team to look for an alternative option. Losing Grupe before Week 7 would mean another change at a position where consistency is critical for a team aspiring to be playing in January and February.
