These two countries may have been facing off recently in the World Cup, but now they are coming together as one. Freshly grilled meats, the crunchy edges of a perfect paella and the sounds of live guitar music, these are all on the cards for the new ‘Between Two Lands’ festival opening in Torremolinos. Best of all entry is free, and the programme runs for four days.
Two countries, one big celebration
Festival Entre Dos Tierras (Between Two Lands) is the first edition of an event organised by the Asociacion Argentina Costasoleña, the Argentine association on the Costa del Sol. Its slogan, “dos orillas, un mismo sentimiento”, translates as “two shores, one shared feeling”, capturing a feeling that many expats know well, caring about two places at once.
Torremolinos suits this occasion just perfectly. Over 120 nationalities live in the popular town, where the Argentine association already joins other communities at its many multicultural celebrations, but this festival gives it an event all of its own.
What is on the programme for the four days
Attendees wont be bored, you’ll be treated to live music, a DJ, children’s entertainment, games, dancing and a delicious array of Argentine and Spanish cooking. Imagine eating a selection of gorgeously charred grilled meats and flavourful seafood paellas, all to the traditional sounds of the countries being celebrated.
Dates, times and where to head to
Doors are open from midday to midnight every day, from Thursday, October 15 to Sunday, October 18, at the famous Plaza de Toros, the town’s bullring, the perfect venue to fuse music and food. Parking is free around the site, but being a busy area, be aware that sometimes finding a space can be tricky.
So, if you fancy trying some different flavours and listening to something new, then bring your family and friends and head to the bullring for the Between two Lands festival. The poster says “una fiesta para todos”, a party for everyone, so no more invitation needed. For more information on the festival you can visitor the Torremolinos Culture Facebook page.
