Summer is the only season in which my dry, sensitive skin looks perpetually glowy. While, yes, my luminous complexion is technically the result of New York City’s high humidity and sweat-inducing metro platforms, I’m not complaining. In fact, I’m always chasing ways to emulate that summer radiance during the other three seasons. Strategies range from applying hydrating essences and dewy setting sprays to swiping on plumping foundations. Which brings me to the product I plan to use all fall long: SHEGLAM’s Lumi Lock & Go Cushion Foundation.
I’m not the only person on a quest for a dewier complexion year-round. Search terms like “dolphin skin,” “glass skin,” and “mochi skin” continue to rise, and fellow beauty obsessives online will try just about anything, from a sardine-packed diet to in-office peptide injections, in the pursuit of radiance. Naturally, it follows that cushion foundations would enjoy a trending moment.
Like the cushion compacts you may know and love from K-beauty brands, Lumi Lock & Go is more than just a foundation. The affordable, skin care-infused formula is designed to provide hydration, comfort, and a long-lasting, lit-from-within glow.

An aspect I haven’t always loved about the product category, though, is that the coverage is often lighter than my finicky complexion sometimes calls for. This one provides medium coverage on the first swipe, and full coverage with two layers, plus does an impressive job of providing a blurred effect, especially where my pores are the most noticeable near my nose and cheeks. Still, the formula feels lightweight and leaves my skin looking hydrated and refreshed for hours.
I typically pat the foundation on using the included sponge because I like the convenience. However, depending on your skillset and the aesthetic you’re after, you can also use a foundation brush; a fluffy one will sheer out the formula, while densely packed bristles will deliver a high-coverage effect. In addition to the versatility of the application, the foundation comes in an accessible range of 36 shades.
