ESPN NFL insider Field Yates recently unveiled his top-10 prospects for the 2027 NFL draft, and two of them are stars of US LBM Coaches Poll No. 8 Notre Dame.
Yates has the Tennessee Titans picking cornerback Leonard Moore third overall in the draft. Moore has recorded 10 tackles and five pass break-ups through five games so far for the Fighting Irish. He’ll be a plug-and-play starter for whoever picks him, and he’s surely make the Titans happy roaming the secondary.
Quarterback CJ Carr, via Yates’ projections, will be selected No. 7 overall by the New York Jets. Carr has completed 66.8% of his passes for 1,639 yards, 16 touchdowns and an interception. On the ground, Carr has also ran for three scores and has an 85.3 QB rating.
This would be a nice landing spot for the star third-year player, as he’d get to throw to Garrett Wilson, one of the best receivers in the NFL. It is hard to say this, but we very well could see Carr having a much more successful professional career due to the receiver talent that he’ll get to throw to. No shade to the Notre Dame receivers, but only a few of them will play at the next level.
