LeBron James has had his say after the president of the United States, Donald Trump, blasted him for his actions during the national anthem.
The POTUS seemed enraged after seeing The King practice a golf swing and jump shot while the American national anthem was played before the Philadelphia 76ers’ opening-night win over the New York Knicks.
Now, following the Sixers’ second win of the season against the Cleveland Cavaliers, James has issued his response.
LeBron James responds to Donald Trump calling him a disgrace
Trump was not happy at all with James and made his feelings clear to everyone through his social media page.
“While listening to our national anthem, LeBron James disrespects our country. I said right from the beginning that he’s no good, a TOTAL DISGRACE,” the POTUS said.
“LeBron James should apologise to all of those Great American Warriors and Heroes who died for the American Flag, and all that our Country stands for!”
James was obviously going to be asked about the above after the Sixers beat the Cavaliers, and instead of firing back at the president of his country, he chose sarcasm.
“Must have been a slow news day in the office. Slow news day at the office,” he told reporters at the Xfinity Mobile Arena.
Focusing on the basketball, James continued his brilliant start to life in Philadelphia and helped the Sixers overcome a 29-point deficit at one stage to win the game.
The 41-year-old scored 17 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, three steals and one block in his 33 minutes on the floor against his former side in his Philly debut.
