Bengaluru: Precision manufacturing company Aequs on Monday said it has signed long-term supply agreements with French aerospace company Safran to manufacture critical aircraft components for Airbus and Boeing programmes.
The agreements expand Aequs' existing relationship with Safran Landing Systems and extend its partnership to Safran Aerosystems and Safran Electronics & Defense. With these contracts, Aequs now works with six Safran entities, said the company in a statement.
The contracts cover the machining of superalloy parts, along with precision machining, coating and assembly of landing gear components for Airbus A320, A330 and A350 aircraft and Boeing 787 programmes.
A significant portion of the manufacturing work will be carried out at the upcoming Aequs Engine Components Ecosystem (AECE) in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The company will also use its existing aerospace manufacturing facilities in Belagavi, Karnataka.
“We believe in long-horizon partnerships anchored in capability, reliability, and scale,” Aequs executive chairman and CEO Aravind Melligeri said in a statement.
The latest contracts follow an agreement signed with Safran Landing Systems in July 2026 to manufacture fully assembled wheels for the Airbus A320 family of aircraft. The agreement runs through 2042 and covers the manufacturing of aircraft wheels in India, from locally sourced aluminium to final assembly and testing.
Aequs, which has worked with Safran for more than a decade, operates manufacturing facilities in Belagavi, Hubballi and Koppal in Karnataka, besides having operations in the US and France.
