Photographers can now use professional cameras for personal and souvenir photography in Intramuros, Manila, without securing a permit, the Department of Tourism (DOT) announced Sunday.
Through a partnership between the Intramuros Administration and CameraHaus, the initiative aims to make heritage photography more accessible and encourage photographers to tell the historic walled city’s stories through their lenses.
DOT reminded photographers to observe site guidelines, such as restrictions on flash photography in some areas, to protect historic structures and museum collections.
To promote photography in Intramuros, the inaugural Street Summit brought more than 300 photographers, content creators, and visual artists for a community photowalk on Saturday.
With the theme “Intramuros Reframed,” the summit encouraged participants to see the Walled City through fresh eyes and capture its lesser-known corners.
