By Zoila Palma: The National Meteorological Service of Belize is warning of a wet weekend ahead, with excessive rainfall of 2 to 4 inches per day or more possible across the country over the next couple of days.
The Met Service says a moist and unstable airmass continues to prevail over Belize, creating conditions for showers, thunderstorms and periods of rain.
For today, mostly cloudy to overcast skies are expected, with showers, thunderstorms and periods of rain across the country.
The unsettled weather is expected to continue on Saturday, with mostly cloudy skies and showers, a few thunderstorms and periods of rain over most areas.
There is also a small craft caution, warning that winds may become gusty during heavy showers or thunderstorms, causing locally rough seas.
Operators of small crafts are advised to exercise caution.
