Based on the latest Raiders injury report for Week 6, running back Ashton Jeanty was a full participant during team practices despite his foot injury and is good to go for the game.
While it’s a positive sign that he remains available to play, his lingering injuries may be affecting his performance. He’s still reeling from the effects of the ankle sprain he sustained in August, in addition to his current foot injury. These undoubtedly contributed to Jeanty finishing with only 27 rushing yards in Week 5 against the New England Patriots.
But despite the obvious need for him to sit back and recover, Jeanty will stick to his mantra of playing for the Raiders unless he can’t run, jump, or cut. Therefore, he is expected to line up against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
This reality has Steve Palazzolo, host of “Check the Mic” on the 33rd Team Network, worried about Jeanty. In a recent episode, he shared with Sam Monson, “The Jeanty thing, though, I feel like every carry he kind of morphs between ‘Trent Richardson, I’m concerned’ and ‘There it is, you know, tough to tackle.’
"The Raiders seem fairly intent on running Ashton Jeanty into the dirt...I'm not a doctor, but a week off feels like a good idea for Ashton Jeanty at the moment." -@SamMonsonNFL

Like Jeanty, Richardson was a highly touted running back prospect coming out of college. Unfortunately, he lasted only two seasons in the NFL. Palazzolo seems to be warning the Raiders that keeping Jeanty active despite his mounting injuries could have the young back headed down the wrong road.
