In the post, Keshie wa Stano disclosed that when she left Kenya for the Middle East, she assumed it was the usual household chores.
Job Sounded Almost Too Easy
She had little idea of what her duties would actually involve, until she arrived and it dawned on her that the job description was the last thing she ever expected.

The young woman met her new employer, who immediately put her at ease and informed her that several other staff members were already working in the household.
As per the employer's sentiments, she concluded that since there were several helping hands, she was not expected to carry a heavy load.
Her sole responsibility, she was told, would be to feed and wash Turki.
Moment Everything Changed
The arrangement sounded almost too comfortable, and she pictured herself settling into a manageable routine, tending to who she assumed must be a child in the household.
That comfortable mental image collapsed the moment she stepped inside the house and was led to meet Turki.
The name, it turns out, belongs to a pet iguana, not the young child she had been imagining all along.
However, she learned pretty fast that iguanas are friendly reptiles common in most Arabic homes in the Middle East.
"Usiogope, they are friendly and harmless. Usianze kupanga safari ya kurudi nyumbani. Tulisema adui ni umaskini tu, chapa mboka," she said.
The unexpected twist captured the kind of jaw-dropping moment that could leave any worker standing frozen in a foreign living room, wondering what exactly she had signed up for when she booked her flight.
Keshie closed her scenario with a question directed squarely at her audience: faced with that revelation, would you scream and bolt, or would you swallow your fear and get on with the job?
The post resonated beyond the laughter it sparked, touching on a broader reality for Kenyans seeking work abroad.
Knowing the precise nature of a job before accepting it can make all the difference between a smooth transition and a very rude awakening on arrival day.
