The superstar striker was seen limping heavily off the pitch and down the tunnel straight after Saturday’s 3-2 Premier League victory at the Etihad Stadium, in which he played the full 90 minutes and scored twice to take his tally for the season so far to 12 goals in 10 appearances across all competitions.
Haaland is believed to have received a bang on the foot towards the end of the game against Ipswich, while others wondered if he could be potentially carrying a knee problem.
However, Maresca later insisted that he had been told by Haaland himself that he was okay. The Man City boss received similar reassurances from Matheus Nunes and Mateo Kovacic, both of whom were forced off in the second half.
However, England left-back Nico O’Reilly is still struggling with a back issue after being substituted just past the hour mark on Saturday, while there is a nervous wait ahead to determine the extent of an injury sustained by Antoine Semenyo, who was also spotted limping after coming off the bench against Ipswich.
“I asked all of them,” Maresca said of that quintet in his post-match press conference. “Mateo said he was okay, Matheus said he was okay, Erling said he was also okay.
“Nico, it’s still his back. If you remember against Coventry in the warm-up [when he withdrew from the team], it’s the same problem.

“The only one we need to wait on was Antoine and we will see.”
Maresca had admitted before the match against Ipswich that Haaland was among a number of key City players who was due a rest after enduring a heavy workload for club and country so far this season, having also picked up a knock while playing for Norway in the Nations League earlier this month.
That now seems likely to come when AEK Athens visit the Etihad in the Champions League on Tuesday night, with City then travelling to Aston Villa next weekend before a double-header against high-flying Brighton in the Carabao Cup and Premier League.
Maresca did make several changes to his lineup to face newly-promoted Ipswich after the dramatic 4-2 home defeat by Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain in midweek, with the likes of Josko Gvardiol, Abdukodir Khusanov, Elliot Anderson, Enzo Fernandez, Rayan Cherki and Semenyo all named on the bench.
