A mum with a ‘beautiful soul’ has died while on holiday with her two-year-old girl in Durrës, Albania.
Ferne King, 25, from Fife, Scotland, was found dead in an Airbnb along Rruga Taulantia in the south west neighbourhood of Durrës 1 on October 8.
She had only arrived in the coastal city two days before, when a cleaner discovered her body in bed at 12.50pm.
The cleaner had gone to tidy the room after the booking was completed.
Foul play is not suspected. Ferne died of cardiac arrest, when the heart suddenly stops beating, police sources told Pamfleti.net.
Ferne’s daughter, Sihana, was found alive next to her in bed and was taken to a social care centre in Tirana.
The authorities asked Ferne’s sister to pay £10,000 to ‘bring a beautiful soul home’, a GoFundMe organised by friend Jade Wilson said.
‘This is such sadness and stress to the family and friends who have been affected. Ferne should be home!
‘An angel God has gained, but her beautiful soul needs her home!’
A Lochgelly funeral director said on Facebook on Friday that Ferne’s funeral will be held on November 6.
‘Beloved and cherished mum of Sihana, loving daughter to Heather and the late Alan, fun-loving sister to Saffron, Alistair and Oscar, loving granddaughter to Jo, auntie and a very good friend to many more,’ they said in a tribute.
‘You will be sorely missed, Ferne.’
