RIYADH: The air defenses on Saturday intercepted and destroyed two Ballistic missiles launched by the Ansar Allah Houthis towards Taif and Yanbu, the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen announced.
The interceptions came as Saudi Civil Defense authorities issued early-warning alerts about potential threats in Makkah, Jeddah, Taif, and Yanbu.
Authorities instructed people to take shelter in safe locations amid incoming projectiles. Residents were also directed to stay away from windows and exposed areas and to follow the authorities’ instructions.
The latest interceptions followed a series of Houthi attacks targeting several parts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, the coalition said it had intercepted and destroyed ballistic missiles launched toward Riyadh and Khamis Mushait, as well as drones targeting the Kingdom’s Eastern Province and southern regions.
Later, Saudi Civil Defense said the threat had passed in the Makkah region and Yanbu governorate.
Authorities instructed residents to continue observing safety guidelines and avoid gathering in crowds or filming impacts.
