Mohamed Belloumi scored a second-half leveller as Hull City and Everton continued their good starts to the season with an entertaining 2-2 draw at the MKM Stadium today.
The result keeps Everton unbeaten in their opening six Premier League games for the first time since 2013-14 and leaves The Toffees fifth, only outside the Champions League spots on goal difference.
BBC reports rhat Hull stay unbeaten at home since returning to the Premier League.
Hull took the lead in the 48th minute as Joe Gelhardt slipped the ball past onrushing Everton keeper Jordan Pickford after Sorba Thomas had intercepted Ainsley Maitland-Niles’ poor pass.
But less than seven minutes later, Everton levelled when Maitland-Niles’ cross found Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall who nodded in at the back post in the 55th minute.
Everton turned things around in the 68th minute when Thomas gave the ball away, allowing Dewsbury-Hall to play in Thierno Barry who finished well for 2-1.
But Belloumi equalised with 16 minutes to go, firing a shot past Pickford after a cut-back from Elliot Stroud to make it 2-2 in the 74th minute.
After scoring for Algeria on Tuesday, Belloumi was only fit enough for the bench but his late goal was enough to save his side’s unbeaten home start to the season. It was his third goal in six Premier League appearances.
The midfielder looked set to shoot first time but smartly tapped the ball past Dewsbury-Hall and beat Pickford for pace with his driven shot.
A win would have taken Hull into the top four. Their strong start has been built on a solid defence and Dewsbury-Hall’s equaliser was the first home goal they have conceded this season.

Still, City fans will be delighted. Last season’s Championship play-off winners are now up to nine points from six Premier League games and drop from 7th to 9th after the draw.
Everton were narrowly the better side and created eight big chances. They thought they had scored in the first half only for Brennan Johnson’s effort in the 34th minute to be ruled out for offside after a VAR check.
Barry also had several chances before his eventual goal, having a close-range header saved and failing to connect to a pass across goal when three yards out at 1-1.
Everton were playing their first match since it was revealed their owners The Friedkin Group (TFG) are exploring the sale of the club.
Dewsbury-Hall was the standout with a goal and an assist, rated 8/10 for his display.
