Manchester City will host defending champions Paris Saint-Germain in Wednesday's headline fixture of the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League, as Europe's leading clubs seek to strengthen their positions in the league phase.
Nine matches are scheduled for Matchday 2, with Real Madrid, Liverpool and Aston Villa also in action as teams look to build on their opening results.
City and PSG both started their campaigns with convincing victories and will meet in a contest between two sides hoping to establish themselves among the early favourites for the title.
Pep Guardiola's side opened with a 2-0 away win against Porto, with Erling Haaland scoring both goals. PSG, meanwhile, delivered an emphatic response in their first outing, defeating Slovan Bratislava 6-1.
The French champions will face a significantly tougher challenge against City, who will be keen to maintain their winning start on home soil.
Another major encounter will see Real Madrid travel to Italy to take on Roma.
Madrid began their campaign with a 2-1 victory over Inter Milan, with Kylian Mbappé among the scorers, and will aim to extend their positive run against an opponent seeking its first win of the league phase.
Roma drew 1-1 away to Fenerbahçe in their opening match and will be looking to take advantage of home support to claim three points. However, the Italian side face a demanding test against the record European champions.
Liverpool will also seek to preserve their unbeaten start when they travel to Austria to face LASK.
The Premier League club secured a 2-1 victory over Atlético Madrid in their opening fixture and will hope to collect another three points. LASK, on the other hand, must respond after suffering a 1-0 defeat against AEK Athens.
Aston Villa will welcome Fenerbahçe in another fixture featuring teams with contrasting ambitions.
Villa made an impressive start with a 3-2 away victory over Club Brugge and will look to carry that attacking form into their home match. Fenerbahçe were held to a 1-1 draw by Roma and are seeking their first victory of the competition.
Elsewhere, Borussia Dortmund travel to Norway to meet Bodø/Glimt after beginning their campaign with a 3-2 win against Villarreal.
Dortmund will target another positive result, while the Norwegian side must recover from a heavy 5-0 defeat by Bayern Munich in their opening game.
Shakhtar Donetsk will host AEK Athens, with the Ukrainian club aiming to register its first victory after drawing 1-1 with PSV Eindhoven.
AEK arrive in the encounter with confidence after beating LASK 1-0 and will attempt to extend their winning start.
Real Betis and Porto will meet in a contest between teams seeking different outcomes following their opening matches.
Betis edged Lille 3-2 away from home to begin their campaign with three points. Porto, however, suffered a 2-0 loss to Manchester City and will be determined to get their league-phase campaign back on track.
Wednesday's schedule also includes Feyenoord against Como and Slovan Bratislava versus Stuttgart.
Feyenoord will be looking to bounce back after a 5-1 defeat by Barcelona, while Como made a strong statement in their opening match by beating RB Leipzig 4-1.
Slovan Bratislava face another difficult assignment after their 6-1 loss to PSG. Their opponents, Stuttgart, come into the fixture after recording a 3-1 victory over Viking.
The day's programme begins at 16:45 GMT with Feyenoord against Como and LASK versus Liverpool. The remaining seven fixtures are scheduled to kick off at 19:00 GMT.
With several leading clubs already recording opening victories, Matchday 2 offers an opportunity to build momentum, while those who lost their first games will be eager to respond and avoid falling further behind in the league-phase standings.
