The Seattle Seahawks signed wide receiver Irv Charles from their practice squad to their active roster Friday afternoon. Seahawks.com senior reporter John Boyle put out a press release at 2:23 p.m. PDT officially announcing the move.
Earlier today, the NFL’s transactions wire showed that the Seahawks released cornerback Trevon Diggs. That freed up the roster spot Charles will occupy.
Charles made his 2026 season debut in Week 6 against the Denver Broncos, playing 15 snaps on special teams and recording one tackle. He was named a second-team alternate to the Pro Bowl last season despite suffering a season-ending ACL tear in Week 14. The Seahawks traded a conditional 2028 seventh-round pick to the New York Jets for him in May, then placed him on injured reserve to begin this season. After some roster shuffling over the past few weeks, he’s now a member of the 53-man roster.
