The Golden State Valkyries are bringing another Bay Area music institution to the WNBA Finals.
En Vogue, the Oakland R&B group behind such '90s hits as "My Lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It)" and "Free Your Mind," is scheduled to perform at halftime of Game 5 of the WNBA Finals at Chase Center on Monday, Oct. 26.
The group's appearance would come as part of the fifth game of the best-of-seven series between the Valkyries and Atlanta Dream.
The Valkyries have leaned heavily on Bay Area-connected performers throughout their first Finals run.
Game 1 featured Oakland singer Goapele performing the national anthem, Berkeley resident Rita Moreno handling the pregame drum duties and San Francisco rapper Larry June performing at halftime. Game 2 featured Alanis Morissette singing the anthem, Oakland rap pioneer Too $hort on the drums and Vallejo rapper LaRussell at halftime.
En Vogue was formed in Oakland in 1989 and became one of the most successful R&B acts of the 1990s, selling more than 20 million albums worldwide. Its best-known songs include "Hold On," "Giving Him Something He Can Feel" and "Whatta Man," a collaboration with Salt-N-Pepa.
The current En Vogue lineup consists of original members Terry Ellis, Cindy Herron and Maxine Jones. The trio recently performed at the Toyota Pavilion in Concord as part of the TLC and Salt-N-Pepa tour, where the group was one of three veteran acts on the bill.
En Vogue also performed at Chase Center during the 2025 NBA All-Star Game as part of a Bay Area music tribute.
Dinah Jane of Fifth Harmony will perform the national anthem before Game 5, according to the Valkyries.
Golden State is trailing Atlanta 2-1 in the series, with Game 4 scheduled for Saturday in Atlanta.
Game 5 is scheduled to air on USA Network, Peacock and CNBC.
