Quasem Industries, a publicly listed dry-cell battery maker, has recommended a 10% dividend, comprising 2% cash and 8% stock, for the financial year 2025-26.
This means shareholders will receive Tk0.20 in cash for each share and eight bonus shares for every 100 shares, subject to shareholders' approval.
A year ago, the company paid a 10% stock dividend to shareholders, according to its data.
The dividend recommendation was made at a board meeting on 18 October, according to a disclosure published on the stock exchange website yesterday (19 October).
The board also approved the company's audited financial statements for FY26, which showed a slight increase in profit from the previous fiscal year.
According to its price-sensitive information, Quasem Industries reported earnings per share (EPS) of Tk1.07 in FY26, up slightly from Tk1.04 in FY25.
Net asset value (NAV) per share surged to Tk57.28 from Tk29.06, mainly due to the revaluation of all land and land development assets owned by the company.
Net operating cash flow per share also improved to Tk1.21 from Tk0.88 a year earlier.
The company has scheduled its annual general meeting (AGM) for 15 December under a hybrid system. The record date has been set for 15 November for shareholders eligible to attend the AGM and receive the cash dividend. The record date does not apply to bonus share entitlements, it said.
In its audit observation, the company's auditor said Quasem Industries had failed to comply with a provision of the Bangladesh Labour Act requiring companies to distribute 5% of the previous year's net profit to the workers' participation, welfare and foundation funds within nine months of the financial year-end.
Meanwhile, the revaluation of the company's assets resulted in an increase of Tk331 crore in their value.
The historical cost of Quasem Industries' 1,286 decimals of land was Tk30.71 crore. Following the revaluation, the value of the land rose to Tk362 crore at the end of June.
