The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted slight-to- moderate dusty haze in the North, sunny but cloudy skies in the central zone, and isolated rains and thunderstorms across the southern region.
In its weather report on Friday, the agency said slight dust haze was anticipated across most areas, turning into moderate dust haze over parts of Katsina, Kano, Jigawa, Zamfara, Kebbi, northern Borno, and Yobe states.
The central region will experience sunny skies with patches of clouds throughout the day.
NiMet also predicted cloudy skies with sunshine intervals and a chance of light rainfalls over parts of Bayelsa, Rivers, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom states.
“Thunderstorms with light rainfall are anticipated over parts of Abia and Imo states,” it stated.
The agency, therefore, advised individuals in areas affected by dust haze, particularly those with asthma or other respiratory vulnerabilities to limit prolonged outdoor exposure.
It also warned that heavy rains or in-coming storms could trigger sudden flash floods and urged the public to avoid walking or driving through flooded roads and drainage paths.
