Oppo’s latest flagship Android phone, the Find X10 Pro is set to be unveiled in the coming weeks, but Oppo kindly sent me a unit ahead of time to let me take its cameras for a spin. So I did. I’ve been on multiple walks around my home in sunny Edinburgh and have taken a variety of snaps with the phone’s multiple rear cameras.
The fun part here is that while I can show you the photos — and you can see the phone in my hand above — I’m not yet allowed to talk about any specs, including the resolution of the cameras or what technology is powering them. So instead, I’m presenting these photos just as they are, almost as a little teaser ahead of the phone’s full unveiling later in the month. I’ll have a full review ready then, along with all the information about the cameras and some comparisons against other top Android camera phones like the Leica Leitzphone.
But all of that’s to come. For now, enjoy some of my early test images taken with the X10 Pro, along with as much information as my non-disclosure agreement allows me to share. Keep in mind that all photos have been imported into Adobe Lightroom in order to be easily assessed and resized for publishing online. No other edits, including sharpening, have been applied unless otherwise stated.

Taken with the main camera, this image is sharp, packed with detail and has natural colors.
I don’t think I’m breaking any rules in telling you that the phone has an ultrawide camera, so here’s a photo I took with it. It looks a little more drab than the one from the main camera, but it’s still got plenty of detail.
There are various color filters, which I almost certainly can’t tell you about here, but you probably assumed it had them anyway, right? Right?! Anyway, I used one of them (I won’t say which) to take this shot, and I like the filmic vibes it’s produced.
I used a different, unnamed, color filter here and I like the punchy tones, especially from that flash of red at the bottom of the ship.
While this color filter is much more subtle, it gives a bold blue that contrasts nicely with the building’s orange.
The last two generations of Oppo phones (including the superb Find X9 Ultra) had Hasselblad’s XPan mode, so I can’t imagine it’s a secret that the new one does too. This mode allows you to shoot with a wide, narrow crop that’s reminiscent of Hasselblad’s legendary XPan panoramic film camera. Those cameras are rare and expensive, so this is the closest you’ll probably get to an authentic XPan experience. I love this wide, cinematic aspect ratio.
While I love the vibrancy of this image — and the sense of the warm evening glow — I do think the camera’s image processing has gone a bit hard with the “HDR” here, creating a less realistic-looking shot.
That over-processing is especially noticeable here. It’s as though the phone has desperately tried to eliminate any shadow in the image, creating a flat-looking shot that lacks the rich tones you’d expect from a good camera.
The Find X10 Pro isn’t alone in this regard — I find most phones seem to go too hard on image processing, and that includes the Find X9 Ultra. The way around it is to shoot in Master mode, taking control of your white balance settings and shooting in DNG raw to avoid any built-in software and AI-based processing being applied. I made my own tweaks to this image in Adobe Lightroom.
While this shot is a straight-out-of-camera image taken in the default mode. Again, I’d have to say that it looks over-processed, especially with the artificially brightened shadows.
I took this shot in Master Mode specifically so I could take control of the white balance and warm the scene up to emphasise that glorious morning sunshine. I took it in JPEG and have done no further editing.
Yes, the phone has a telephoto zoom lens, but no I can’t tell you what that zoom factor is. What I can say is that I think this shot looks good.
And this telephoto zoom shot also looks good, with sharp details and vibrant colors.
Like the Find X9 Ultra, the X10 Pro will be available with an add-on telephoto zoom lens to take your zoom shots even further. Here’s a white pigeon I found. While the camera struggled to get focus on the bird (getting confused by the railing in front) it eventually achieved an impressively sharp image, with natural-looking bokeh from the out-of-focus railing.
And another with the add-on telephoto lens. This time it’s a seagull on a boat, even though it doesn’t need a boat because it can fly. This seagull just wants to have everything and it’s a real shame that late-stage capitalism has influenced the local birdlife in this way.
Speaking of capitalism, I’ll end on this photo of yours truly with a Leica M6 slung around my neck. Taken with the front-facing camera, this shot has nice-looking tones, both in terms of the shadows and the colors.
I like many of these early test shots I’ve taken, and I’m looking forward to spending more time with the phone over the coming weeks. It has some stiff competition – not just from the aforementioned Leica Leitzphone and the new iPhone 18 Pro, but also from its predecessor, the Find X9 Ultra, which impressed me with its photography skills when I reviewed it in June.
