BATON ROUGE – LSU football standout senior defensive end Princewill Umanmielen has exited the game Saturday after suffering an injury.
In the first quarter against Mississippi State Saturday Oct. 17, Umanmielen was seen lying on the ground following a run play by the Bulldogs. He was on the ground for a short time before LSU athletic trainers made their way out to him.
Trainers attended to Umanmielen for a couple of minutes on the field before he was able to get up to his feet. He walked extremely gingerly to the medical tent on the LSU sideline.

Umanmielen stayed in the medical tent for a few minutes before returning the LSU's sideline without his helmet. He has been standing with the defense while the offense has been on the field.
ESPN commentators said on the broadcast that it was hard to decipher what Umanmielen's injury was after watching the replay of the play.
Losing Umanmielen would be a huge deal for LSU's defense as he's near the tops in the nation in sacks this season so far. He's been one of LSU's most consistent defenders through six games this year.
