The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has intercepted a Lexus LX570 SUV with a concealed number plate bearing the inscription “PRESIDENCY” in Abuja.
The vehicle was intercepted at about 8:00 p.m. on October 20, 2026, in the Maitama District of the FCT.
The police said the occupant of the vehicle was arrested alongside the SUV for investigation and prosecution.
In a statement on Tuesday, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, said preliminary investigations revealed that the concealed number plate bore the registration number 10B218 FG.
Adeh said further investigations, following the suspect’s claim to be the legitimate holder of the number plate, revealed that the registration documents were forged.
She added that the suspect was impersonating a permanent secretary attached to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
