Feyenoord grabbed their first win in the Champions League this season with an entertaining 3-2 victory over Serie A side Como. After the game, Como head coach Cesc Fabregas was full of praise for one Feyenoord player in particular. Fabregas told the media ‘In the second half they were better, in some respects much better. Hadj Moussa is a difference-maker. We don’t have players who make the difference at this level yet‘.
Anis Hadj Moussa is having a fantastic season, and that continued in the Champions League against Como. Fabregas witnessed the 24-year-old Algerian winger put in an impressive display with one goal and a number of shots on the Como goal. The former Patro Eisden winger now has six goals in just nine games this season for Feyenoord, alongside one assist. This is Hadj Moussa’s third season with the club since leaving the second tier of Belgian football. In that time he has played 92 games, scoring an impressive 31 goals. Last year was his best season for Feyenoord so far, with 14 goals and seven assists in 40 games. If he continues to play like at this level, especially in the Champions League, it won’t only be the likes of Como’s Fabregas talking highly of him. Feyenoord will certainly have a job on their hands next summer if they want to keep the Algerian in the Eredivisie.
