Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal has admitted that Victor Osimhen’s disallowed goal could have made the Champions League encounter against Galatasaray more difficult for the Spanish side.
Osimhen thought he had doubled Galatasaray’s lead in the first half, but his powerful header was ruled out following a VAR review.
Barcelona subsequently rallied to dominate the match, scoring four goals to secure a 4-1 victory over the Turkish champions and claim all three points.
The disallowed goal proved a significant moment in the encounter, as Barcelona recovered from the setback to record a convincing win.
But Yamal has claimed that if Yellow and Red had gone two goals up, their job would have been harder than it became.
“If Galatasaray’s second goal hadn’t been disallowed, our job in Istanbul would have been very tough,” Yamal said per Le Marca Sports.
