Jas Singh, co-owner of Canberra Tyres in Fyshwick, was in his home when a security alert showed him live footage of a lone burglar breaking into their on Wollongong Street business about 4am.
"We pulled the CCTV and saw the person slammed his car in reverse [into the roller door]," Mr Singh said, pointing towards the broken shutter.
"[The burglar] went in straight ... by the time we came from our place to here, he was already gone [about 4.25am]."
He said the business is looking at thousands repair and recovery costs after the burglar made off with tools, scanners, equipment and their cash register containing about $3000.
Jas Singh, who owns Canberra Tyres with his brother, said his business was broken into 25 minutes after a ram raid at a shop next door (inset).
The incident occurred about six months after Canberra Tyres opened at the location, Mr Singh said.
"The previous owner did said that in this area specifically, and this shop as well, there had been break-ins before," he said.
"Since morning ... we couldn't get cars in, we had to refuse people because there was no entry into the shop."
ACT Policing confirmed the report and said the burglar was driving a white Mitsubishi Pajero.
Canberra Tyres was broken into minutes after MSY, a computer shop next door, was targeted.
The retailer, located in a side street, had a automatic metal gate with bars that had been pryed open.
It's understood the burglar knew what they were doing when they headed straight for a graphic card retailing at $10,000 among other hardware also worth thousands of dollars.
Police said MSY was burgled about 3.55am when security cameras captured a white Ford Ranger crashing into the front of the business.
"Multiple items were stolen and the vehicle fled the scene before police arrival," a police spokeswoman said.
She said officers saw the white Ford Ranger - reported stolen from a business on Marconi Crescent in Kambah - shortly after the burglary and that the police pursuit was cut short for safety reasons.
About 4.40am, the Ford Ranger was found in flames near Kambah Pool Road while police are yet to find the white Pajero.
Anyone with information about the incidents or dash cam footage of them early on Monday morning, Ocotber 12, has been asked to contact police.
