(ANSA) - ROME, 12 OTT - A worker died after falling from a warehouse roof near Rome Monday as Italy's spate of fatal workplace accidents continued.
The latest workplace tragedy has occurred in Fiano Romano, just outside the capital.
The worker died after falling from the roof of the industrial warehouse that was being fitted out.
The 57-year-old man plunged through a skylight from a height of approximately 8 metres.
Emergency rescue efforts were unsuccessful.
Carabinieri from the Fiano Romano station and SPRESAL personnel from the ASL Rm4 local health authority responded to the scene.
The investigation is being coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Rieti.
Workplace deaths are a big problem in Italy.
Workplace accident insurance agency INAIL said in its annual report that Italy registered 1,189 work-related deaths in 2025.
Although this was 37 fewer than in 2024, a drop of 3.02%, it still means that Italy is averaging over three work-related deaths every day. (ANSA).
