- Sharna Burgess is back on Dancing With the Stars for the first time since she danced with her fiancé, Brian Austin Green, in 2021.
- Fans have been side-eyeing Brian, who’s been noticeably absent from the DWTS audience after he dropped cryptic messages on social media.
- Brian revealed the real reason he hasn’t been cheering Sharna on in the ballroom. Here’s what he had to say.
Sharna Burgess has returned to the Dancing with the Stars ballroom for the first time in five years, and she’s paired up with Bachelor Nation alum Tyler Cameron. She last competed on the show with her fiancé, Brian Austin Green, in 2021 before welcoming their son, Zane Walker Green, the following year.
Amid cryptic social media messages from Brian last month, fans have noticed that he hasn’t been in the audience to cheer on Sharna’s big return to the reality competition series. But according to the Beverly Hills, 90210 actor, he’s got a perfectly good reason: his kids.
“I was there a lot in the beginning,” he told Us Weekly on October 12, adding, “[Production] has cracked down a little bit on young kids being there.”
He also admitted it’s “a little harder” to pull up to Television City Studios with Zane and his other children, whom he shares with exes Megan Fox and Vanessa Marcil.

“I can’t be there with Zane and the kids. So we have found a time when it works where they can be home with someone and I can go,” he explained. “I’m always there, whether I’m sitting in the audience or I’m sitting at home watching. I’m always rooting for [Sharna]. So we figure out from episode to episode what works.”
Brian’s updates come after DWTS season 29 winner Kaitlyn Bristowe slammed him for allegedly “humiliating” Sharna with an Instagram Reel in which he claimed he was having a “hard time.”
While he never explicitly discussed Sharna’s return to DWTS in the clip, the Bachelor Nation alum felt his message hid some underlying feelings.
“He was saying how hard it is that Sharna is not there with him every day, and she’s with Tyler every day,” she explained during the October 8 episode of her Off the Vine podcast. “I was like, ‘Oh my God, I feel like he humiliated her on his social media, made her feel bad.’ He was basically saying, ‘You’re never home. I am all alone. And, like, you’re spending every day with Tyler.’”
Brian never responded to Kaitlyn’s speculation, but based on his recent updates, it seems like things are all good between him and Sharna. Here’s to hoping he and Zane make it to the ballroom one of these days!
