Tencent's AI butler Marvis is now available in the Kylin software store, bringing the operating-system-level assistant to China's widely used domestic desktop platform.
According to Tencent, the listing targets Kylin Desktop Operating System V10 SP1 on both x86 and ARM, and supports multiple domestic CPUs and mainstream computing platforms. Marvis debuted earlier this year on mainstream desktop and mobile platforms. This release extends it into the domestic IT ecosystem used widely in government agencies and state-owned enterprises.
Marvis is designed to operate the computer directly rather than only chat. It can change screen brightness or switch to dark mode on request. Tencent gives the example of a user asking why the mouse feels laggy; Marvis then attempts to diagnose the problem on its own.
The Kylin version integrates with the operating system's own utilities. On command, Marvis can open the Security Center to run security checkups, virus scans and vulnerability fixes. It can also call the Kylin system manager for junk cleanup and fault diagnosis, and install or uninstall software through official channels.
Beyond system control, the app offers system maintenance, intelligent search and processing of local documents, task automation, and cross-device remote control. Users who step away from their desk can connect to the PC from the Marvis mobile app and have it find or edit files remotely.
Tencent says Marvis is now open to cooperation with government departments, state-owned enterprises and industry partners.
The move matters less as a new capability than as a distribution channel. Software in China's domestic IT sector typically has to be adapted to specific operating systems and processor architectures and distributed through approved channels. A store listing with certified V10 SP1 support on x86 and ARM gives Marvis a direct route into those environments, where AI agents have so far been scarce.
Marvis has expanded quickly in recent months, adding support for third-party models such as Kimi and Zhipu GLM and evolving into a team of specialized agents for PC, file, browser and software tasks. Tencent has not said whether the Kylin edition processes requests fully offline.
