Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has claimed that Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara is satisfied with their working relationship, amid lingering political tensions in Rivers State.
Wike made the assertion on Tuesday during his monthly media chat in Abuja, where he also issued a warning to Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal over his reported reference to him as “that guy.”
The FCT minister suggested that he could create difficulties for the Zamfara governor, although he did not specify any action he intended to take.

Wike said he was reluctant to discuss Lawal further, noting that any problems in the state could be attributed to him.
“Governors in my party like the one who was calling me ‘that guy.’ I don’t want to remember him because if I put fire in his state, they’ll say I’m the one putting fire,” he said.
The former Rivers State governor maintained that, although he was not seeking any elective office, he could still exert influence in ways that would put pressure on political opponents.
“I’m not contesting any election, but I can make you have heat, I’ll be laughing, but you’re having heat. You’re supposed to spend N10, but I’ll make you spend N50. It’s not necessary,” Wike stated.
He also dismissed suggestions that his political relevance had diminished since assuming his current role as FCT minister.
“With the job that I have now, there are those who thought that all about Wike is gone,” he added.
Wike Speaks On Relationship With Fubara
Addressing the political situation in Rivers State, Wike said he and Fubara were now working together and claimed the governor was happy with the arrangement.

According to the minister, Fubara’s immediate concern was whether he would contest another election, while his political camp would retain control of the state’s political structure.
“We and Fubara are working together, he is happy and what is important to Fubara now is whether he is running or not, his political team will still retain the power,” Wike said.
