The balance in the cryptocurrency market continues to shift. While Ethereum has recently been in the spotlight with bullish social media comments, Bitcoin and XRP investors are becoming increasingly worried.
At this point, investor expectations in the market are clearly diverging among the three major asset classes.
According to social media data from the cryptocurrency analysis platform Santiment, Ethereum is leading the way with bullish expectations, while bearish comments are predominantly seen for Bitcoin and XRP.
FOMO Rises in Ethereum, Fear Deepens in Bitcoin and XRP!
According to Santiment’s report, Ethereum is receiving 2.05 bullish comments for every bearish comment on X, Reddit, and Telegram platforms. This ratio indicates that investors are significantly optimistic about ETH.
The positive sentiment in Ethereum is attributed to expectations of a recovery above a critical support level, staking demand, and upcoming network improvements. However, intense optimism alone does not guarantee a continued uptrend.
On the Bitcoin front, the outlook has reversed. According to Santiment data, BTC receives only 0.82 bullish comments for every bearish comment. Santiment suggests that the inability to break through the resistance zone around $87,000 and the price’s decline towards $81,000 are among the developments weakening investor confidence.
It is also noted that the liquidation of leveraged long positions and macroeconomic pressures are reinforcing the negative sentiment towards Bitcoin.
Finally, Santiment, evaluating XRP, reported that the ratio of bullish to bearish opinions to XRP is 0.92. Santiment added that XRP has fallen by more than 9% in the last week and is struggling to regain the $1.40 level. According to Santiment, the liquidation of long positions is also increasing selling pressure.
Could Fear Be a Sign of Recovery?
According to Santiment, from a reverse indicator perspective, fear in Bitcoin and XRP could provide a healthy foundation, just like intense optimism in Ethereum, should prices begin to recover. However, social media sentiment alone should not be considered a buy or sell signal.
