Massi Fritz believes it is wrong to blame the school’s culture for the suspected crimes.
"There is no culture that justifies violence. Portraying suspects as victims when the plaintiffs are the ones who have been subjected to serious crimes is wrong. It is important not to confuse perpetrators with victims," she tells Expressen.
The comment follows remarks by Hanna Lindblom, a lawyer for one of the students, about what she calls a toxic culture that she believes exists within the walls of boarding schools.
“Both the boys on the plaintiff side and on the defendant side are victims of this culture,” Lindblom told Expressen this weekend.
Two 18-year-old students are in custody on suspicion of crimes against younger students - aggravated sexual assault, aggravated unlawful coercion, unlawful threats and aggravated assault. A third student is suspected of assault and unlawful coercion but is not in custody.
A derailed reset is said to be behind the events.
