Now that the NFL's Week 6 games have almost all wrapped up, it's time to look back at the action. For the Chicago Bears, Week 6 was glorious because it brought the return of quarterback Caleb Williams after he missed their previous game due to an injury.
Williams didn't miss a step. He was locked in for the full game and helped bring the Bears to a 31-23 victory over the Atlanta Falcons.
With Williams back in full form, some think the Bears are destined to be right back at the top of the NFC North and even make a big play for the championship. But that may be a bit premature.
Caleb Williams and the Bears might not be NFC North favorites just yet
In a feature out Monday, Dan Graziano of ESPN runs through some overreactions following the weekend's games. One of them is about Williams. "With Caleb Williams back healthy, the Bears are NFC North favorites," he says.
Is that an overreaction? According to Graziano, yes. Even though "Williams did not look rusty," he doesn't think it's right to jump to the conclusion that the Bears are No. 1 in the NFC North.
"I know the Vikings didn't play this week, but did we forget they're 5-0?" he asks. "Did we forget the Packers just beat the Bears last week and are right on their heels in the standings ahead of their Sunday night matchup against the Cowboys?"
He adds, "The Lions are 3-2 and also off this week but still have that big-time offense and that cream cheese schedule."
So, don't count those chickens just yet, Chicago. The jury is still out on this one.
