The Falcons had themselves a terrible Week 6 game against the Bears on Sunday, but their thoughts were understandably elsewhere as rookie linebacker Kendal Daniels went down with a frightening injury.
Daniels made a hard tackle against Bears tight end Colston Loveland in the third quarter, but he approached the play with his head down. Loveland's knee went directly to Daniels' head, and the rookie linebacker went down in significant pain.
Initially, Daniels was moving. But emergency medical personnel needed to cut off Daniels' jersey and place him in a neck brace. He left the game on a stretcher and was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.
Thankfully, the early reports on Daniels' condition were encouraging.
